Tending the Fire: Jewish Mindfulness Teachings and Suggestions for Practice

What do you do when you come down from the mountain?

Now that our journey through the Omer is complete, we invite you to continue with our online community by following Tending the Fire, daily mindfulness teachings and suggestions for practice that Rabbi Yael Levy is posting on the A Way In blog, Facebook and Twitter. Counting forward from Shavuot, the 50th day, each day Rabbi Yael is sharing a teaching inspired by the Book of Psalms.

The series takes its name from the Torah verse that says, “A perpetual fire shall be kept burning on the altar – it shall not go out.” (Leviticus 6:6)

“We tend this fire through practice,” says Rabbi Yael, “and through mitzvot – acts of connection and love.”
