Image relating to [title]

Sunday, April 19 2:00 P.M. at Masjidullah-Center for Human Excellence

The film explores the dramatic lives of Ibn Rushd (Averroes) the Muslim and Musa Ibn Maymun (Maimonides) the Jew, the two leading personalities from the city of Cordoba in Al-Andalus, and its heritage of convivencia (religious coexistence).

Filmed in the USA, Spain, Morocco, France, Italy, Egypt, Israel and Palestine, and 10 years in the making, the film also explores contemporary relations between Muslims, Jews, and Christians, the struggle against religious extremism, the revolts for human rights in the Middle East, and for justice in Palestine.

The film has been screened over 150 times at universities, film festivals, mosques, churches, and synagogues around the world, including a special screening at United Nations Headquarters. OUT OF CORDOBA is a powerful plea for greater interfaith understanding in our own, often violent, times.

Masjidullah-Center for Human Excellence, Cultural Development Committee & Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) present the award-winning documentary, OUT OF CORDOBA, featuring a post-screening Q & A with director Jacob Bender, Executive Director, Philadelphia Branch Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Rabbi Shawn Zevit.
