New E-Book Version of Rabbi Yael Levy's Omer Guide Now Available Online
An e-book version of Rabbi Yael Levy's popular Omer Guide is now available for immediate download to most electronic reading devices.
The e-book version of "Journey through the Wilderness: A Mindfulness Approach to the Ancient Jewish Ritual of Counting the Omer" was created through a service called Smashwords.com, which allows you to view the book on your computer or download it to most tablet reading devices like Kindle, Apple iPad or iPhone, Nook, Sony Reader and most e-reading apps. You can also download the book as a PDF or Rich Text Format to read or print out.
The $9.99 e-book version contains all the text and photos available in the guide's print version, which was first printed three years ago as a paperback and is available through from createspace.com or amazon.com) for $19.99. This includes daily teachings, Psalm verses in both English and Hebrew, a practice for each of the 49 days, an easy-to-follow calendar -- as well as several evocative photos to aid in your meditations. The e-book also includes several more photos from the desert Southwest, the place that has been so inspirational to Rabbi Yael's practice.
Unlike the print version, which takes a few days to arrive, the e-book is available immediately. (You will be asked to fill out a free registration form for Smashwords in order to purchase the book.) The cost is $9.99, but subscribers to A Way In's email list for daily Omer teachings will receive a coupon for a 20 percent discount. If you are not already subscribed from previous years, click here to sign up.
Other features of the e-book include links that allow you to go quickly back and forth from the Table of Contents to the various parts of the book and from traditional prayers to the individual days of Omer.
