High Holy Day 5785 Volunteers

Thank you for signing up to volunteer for High Holy Days 5785 to make everything run as wonderfully as possible.

Lead Levite: Point Person for all logistics, leading all volunteers of that shift, liaison between volunteers and Staff/Clergy; must have been trained as a Lead Levite
Zoom Levite: Oversee all Zoom for shift, welcome/guide remote experience for all; must have been trained as a Zoom Levite, does not need to be physically at Mishkan
Tech Levite: Run all cameras, sound, and Zoom from Sanctuary; coordinate remote experience with Zoom Levite; must have been trained as a Tech Levite

Greeters: Welcome folks as they arrive at Mishkan, check everyone in
Ushers: Stationed just inside/outside sanctuary to help folks find seating/books and help with any logistics that arise and distribute/collect all cards (donation, affirmation, tshuvah); counters (in coordination with Lead Levite) à specific locations will be set at top of shift and can rotate

Parking: Stand outside the lots to inform folks when lots are full and remind folks that only entrance is first floor lot

Rosh Hashanah Set Up Team: Set Up Sanctuary/Building for Rosh Hashanah including all signage, putting out books/booklets, donation cards, downstairs areas (outside and family service), and adjusting sanctuary shades to limit glare on bimah
Challah Bakers: Bake/Bring the listed number of Challah
Rosh Hashanah Supplies: Buying all needs for family service and dropping off at Mishkan
Family Service Set Up: Day of set up for the Family Service
Oneg/Potluck Clean Up: Making sure all food is properly disposed of, all dishes/utensils are cleaned and put away, and all laundry is in appropriate baskets, taking trash out
Potluck/Break Fast Set Up: Putting out all food, tablecloths/napkins, dishes, and utensils
Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur Break Down: Returning the sanctuary and the rest of the building back to how it usually exists outside of High Holy Days so it is functional for other building tenants; for Yom Kippur, this also includes cleaning up the Break Fast and handling all food disposal/dish cleaning and taking trash out
Yom Kippur Set Up: Set Up Sanctuary/Building for Yom Kippur including all signage, putting out books/booklets, donation/affirmation/tshuvah cards with pencils, downstairs areas (outside and family service), adjusting sanctuary shades to limit glare on bimah, setting up tables for Yizkor candles and Table of Remembrance, setting up tables/chairs for Break Fast, setting up Heschel King
Heschel King Reset: Putting the room back together after Noah’s morning Yom Kippur service before Torah service
