7pm, Selichot Workshop (in person only) at Mishkan Followed by Selichot Service at 9 PM at Mishkan and on Zoom with Rabbi Shawn, Alana Krivo-Kaufman and Noah Dor Lind

Sat, 09/17/2022 - 7:00pm - 11:55pm
We will engage in a Truth Mandala, a ritual developed by Joanna Macy that provides a simple, respectful, whole group structure for owning and honoring our pain for the world.  We will create sacred space through our truth-telling in service of all beings' welfare and the world's healing. This can be a highly emotional experience with risk-taking; everyone will have the option to enter the mandala or not.  This ritual offers a container for our shared emotional grief and helps us to build a compassionate community. We are doing this because we are living in a time of heightened emotions and increasing complexity. We have found the Truth Mandala a useful way to access our feelings, connect us with what we love, build community and find the resilience and power to go forth."     Lynne Iser and Rabbi Mordechai Liebling have both been trained by Joanna Macy in The Work That Reconnects and have led these retreats and workshops internationally. Lynne is the Board Chair of the Elder Action Network and Mordechai is the Senior Advisor to POWER Interfaith.    RSVP is required in advance to Rabbishawn@mishkan.org
