Come and explore the ancient art of mandala-making in four sessions, facilitated by Meredith Barber.Have you ever seen a drawing of a circle adorned with colors of various shapes and sizes, nature designs, words, or a repetitive pattern? It’s an example of a mandala. Mandala-making is a meditative, spiritual practice that can be used for self-exploration, problem-solving, or creative fun. Mandala comes from Sanskrit and means “circle” or “center.”
Many cultures throughout history have used mandala-making as a tool to establish sacred space and aid in meditation. In these four Wednesday nights, we’ll learn how to make various types of mandalas. We’ll use markers, pens, and collage materials. Some of our time will be spent in meditative silence. Absolutely no art experience is necessary.

Class will meet on 4 Wednesday nights 6-8 pm: Feb 26, March 4, March 11, and March 25, 2020.

Fee: $54 for Mishkan members and $72 for non-members. Pay online

Meredith Barber, Psy.D., a spiritual director, artist, and longtime Mishkan member, has a psychology practice in Wynnewood. In 2018 she took a mandala-making class at Omega Institute and has been an ardent devotee ever since.
