Ring the Bells that Still Can Ring: An Alternative Inauguration Day Gathering

Through Meditation, Prayer, Song, Yoga, Connection to Each Other and the Earth we will gather in support of one another on this day. The songs and poetry of Leonard Cohen will comprise the morning prayers and special kavannot/intentions will be held in meditation, music and yoga. We will move into action through ecological restoration work.  See the schedule below:

8:00-8:30  Mindfulness Sit with Rabbi Yael Levy

8:30-9:30 Morning Prayer led by Rabbi Vivie Mayer The songs and poetry of Leonard Cohen will comprise the entire liturgy

9:45-10:45 Yoga to strengthen our Heart and Sprit with Sharon Barr (Please bring your yoga mat—we will have a few extras)

11:00-11:30  Freedom Songs: Raising our energy and strength with Rabbi Shawn Zevit

11:30-12:15  Brown bag lunch (Everyone is invited to bring their own vegetarian lunch)

12:30 -2:30 Ecological restoration work in the Wissahickon guided by Steve Jones

            Meet at Mishkan Shalom and carpool a short distance to the Wissahikcon

            We will take a short hike down a path lined with 150 year old trees and arrive at the Hermit Cave site where we will remove invasive plants and clear the way for new and healthy growth.
