Acts of Caring

The Acts of Caring Committee brings Mishkan members together virtually, spiritually — and sometimes physically — to share in members’ life-cycle events and to offer help in times of need.

Acts of Caring has two components:

• A moderated listserv sent to all Mishkan members to share news of happy and sad events and to ask for prayers or help in times of illness or other need.
• A voluntary direct services support network known as Hineni (Here I am). Acts of Caring coordinators work with congregants to identify needs and then to meet those needs via a web-based volunteer site.

Our bimonthly Kol Shalom column notifies the congregation of upcoming simchas and recent life cycle news, and maintains a list of both congregants and their loved ones for ongoing prayers for healing.
