Through the Congregational School, Mishkan Shalom provides Jewish learning for children from kindergarten through seventh grade. WE foster a love of Judaism in our children by teaching Jewish texts, history and civilization and by experiencing Jewish rituals and values. Our goal is to inspire students with a commitment to:

  • avodah (prayer and spiritual growth)
  • Torah (study)
  • tikkun olam (repair of the world)
  • gemilut hasadim (acts of caring)

Our philosophy is based upon Mishkan Shalom's Statement of Principles, and is reflected in all aspects of the school. Students engage in a dialogue with the Principles throughout their religious school years. The Principles serve as a living, dynamic basis for understanding the values that guide the entire Mishkan Shalom community.

The school is integral to the congregation. It is designed to embody the congregation's Statement of Principles and to educate the youngest members of our community in the values and beliefs of the congregations. Students participate in all aspects of the life of the synagogue, and all members of the community are encouraged to be involved in the education of our youth.
