With joy and warm welcome, we announce the continuation of monthly rituals honoring Rosh Chodesh, the new moon that begins each month in the Jewish year. Honoring our roots in earth-based spiritual traditions, it has been our practice to let the moon choose the evening of our meeting…this month it is a Thursday.
Why is Barbara Ehrenreich our prophet for Adar in this year of 5772?
In the month of Adar, our Nitivah (archetype) is The Fool, who makes fun of accepted truisms and says what no one else dares to say!
Find out what Barbara Ehrenreich is debunking….Get ready for Purim… Bless and eat chocolate….. Welcome Adar!
Although Rosh Chodesh has been traditionally a women’s practice, these gatherings explore aspects of the divine feminine (Shechinah) and are open to all who wish to explore their spiritual lives in this way. We review the challenges/blessings, the bitter and the sweet, of the month that is ending, and welcome the new month. Activities include chant and meditation, study of the archetype associated with the coming month, poems, and personal sharing. Each session includes contemplative savoring of chocolate (and/or round fruit), sanctified by our own Blessing for Chocolate.
